Unconfirmed reports suggest that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage with chief ministers via video conference on Wednesday in order to discuss the rising COVID-19 situation in the country.
Rajesh Bhushan, the Union Health Secretary, will deliver a speech during the conference.
In a video conference scheduled for tomorrow at 12 p.m., Prime Minister Modi will speak with Chief Ministers about the COVID situation in the country, according to an official.
With a number of festivals approaching, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asked people to remain vigilant against the threat posed by the coronavirus and to continue to practise Covid-appropriate behaviour such as wearing masks and routinely washing their hands, among other things.

As a result of the 2,483 new coronavirus infections reported in a single day, India’s cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases increased to 4,306,259, while the number of active cases decreased to 15,636, according to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry released on Tuesday.
According to the most recent data available at 8 a.m., the death toll has increased to 5,23,622 with 1,399 new fatalities. Assam has reconciled 1,347 deaths and Kerala has reconciled 47 deaths as a result of the virus.
