On Saturday, it was announced that Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the NDA’s vice presidential candidate. The BJP is in charge of the NDA. The BJP’s leader, JP Nadda, said this at a meeting of the party’s parliamentary board in Delhi.
The governor of West Bengal, Dhankhar, is 71 years old. He has often disagreed with the chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, about things like state universities and political unrest.
Nadda said that Dhankhar was the “people’s governor” because he was the son of a farmer. Soon after, the prime minister of India tweeted, “Kisan Putra Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji is known for being humble.” He has a strong background as a lawyer, in the legislature, and as a governor. He has always worked to make life better for farmers, young people, women, and other people who have been left out. I’m glad that he will be our choice for VP.
“Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji is the foremost authority on our Constitution. He is well-versed in how the government functions. I have no doubt that he would do a great job leading the Rajya Sabha and guiding the meetings to help the country move forward “Modi added.
In a tweet, Dhankhar thanked Narendra Modi for making him the candidate for vice president. Nitish Kumar, who is the chief minister of Bihar, has promised that the JD will support Dhankhar as vice president. The last day to turn in nomination papers for an election is July 19, and the election is scheduled for August 6.
