Wrestler Sushil Kumar, fleeing after being blamed for homicide, was arrested by the special cell of Delhi Police on Sunday.

The 38-year-old Olympic medalist was on the run since the homicide of 23-year-old public top dog grappler Sagar Dhankar following a fight at New Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium on May 4.

Pramod Kushwaha, DCP, special cell, stated:

Sagar Dhankar family got life threats from Sushil Kumar:

The capture comes a day after Sagar Dhankar claimed that they got life dangers from Sushil Kumar and requested that he be accused of and captured for homicide. 

Wrestler Sagar’s father Ashok stated:

“I gave over Sagar to Mahabali Satpal, who runs Chhatrasal Akhada when he was only 15. He thought about Sushil Kumar, his master. Both Satpal and Sushil vowed to prepare my child well. 

My child had won numerous decorations before he was executed after a fight with Sushil Kumar and his partners,” Sagar’s dad Ashok said.

The Delhi Police had given a post roundabout against the grappler fourteen days prior, after going over the video film. Kumar and others can be seen attacking grappler Dhankad and his companions Sonu and Amit Kumar.
